Horizon (2017) 50x70cm
Ingimar Þórhallsson (b. 1992) studied photography and art (BA Hons) at the University of the Arts London from 2015 to 2018. Colours and forms, both in nature and in man-made objects, are subjects close to Ingimar's heart, and he shows their various manifestations.
The photographer draws inspiration from abstract painting and philosophy and reflects on how people interpret and define the environment around them. Many of his pictures also reflect the power of nature and how that power shapes our surroundings. Finally, he plays with shadows and perspectives, and sometimes the camera is moved or unrelated objects are added to the picture. The result is thus deliberately ambiguous and mysterious – like a memory of what he saw.
